South Africans registered a convincing 159-run win

South Africans registered a convincing 159-run win over New Zealand, in 3rd ODI and lead the series 2-1, at the Wellington on Saturday. South African Captain AB de Villiers won the coin toss, and elected to bat first.

South Africa were off to a steady start, with the openers contributing 41 opening runs, before Hashim Amla fell for 07. After that Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock added 73 runs for the 2nd wicket. Faf du Plessis out for 36 runs and in same over Quinton de Kock dismissed for 68 runs. For South Africa,it was skipper AB de Villiers, who was the top scorer with 85 runs. Wayne Parnell contributed with good 35 runs. Eventually South Africa manage to score 271 runs for lost of 8 wickets in their 50 overs.

In reply to South Africa’s 271, New Zealand off to a shaky start, as they lost Tom Latham and Dean Brownlie for single figures at the score of 11. 37 runs later Kane Williamson dismissed for 23 runs. New Zealanders never really got going and lost wickets at regular intervals. For New Zealand, it was Colin de Grandhomme, who was the top scorer with 34 runs. However New Zealand bowled out for 112 runs in 32.2 over. While in the bowling department, it was Dwaine Pretorius, who claimed 3 wickets for just 5 runs.
