Record-breaking LPL hundred from Babar Azam
The Colombo Strikers registered a 7-wicket thriller win over the Galle Titans in the 10th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 at Pallekele. The Galle Titans batted first and scored 188 runs for the loss of three wickets in their 20 overs. In reply to that, the Colombo Strikers scored 189 runs for the loss of three wickets and won the match with one ball to spare.
For Colombo Strikers Babar Azam was the star with the bat and scored his maiden hundred in the Lanka Premier League and his 10th hundred in T20 matches. He made 104 runs in 59 balls with eight fours and five sixes.
With that hundred, Babar Azam became the first player to score a hundred in the 4th edition of the Lanka Premier League, and he is the first Pakistani player to score a hundred in LPL history. Also, he is the first player to score a LPL hundred at Pallekele.
Also, Babar Azam became the 4th player to score a hundred in the Lanka Premier League, and his 104 was recorded as the 2nd highest individual score in the tournament. Previously, Laurie Evans, Avishka Fernando, and Andre Fletcher scored hundreds in the Lanka Premier League.
