Nicholas Pooran took the game away from RCB
Lucknow Super Giants registered a one-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday in Bengaluru. Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Royal Challengers Bangalore pose a huge total on the board. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis made a 96-run partnership for the first wicket. Virat Kohli scored 61 runs. After that, Glenn Maxwell joined with Faf du Plessis and made a 115-run partnership for the 2nd wicket until Maxwell was dismissed for 59 runs in the last over of their innings. Skipper Faf du Plessis was the top scorer with an unbeaten 79. Eventually, RCB made 212 runs for the loss of two wickets in their 20 overs.
In reply, the Lucknow Super Giants haven’t had a good start. They lost their three wickets cheaply. However, Marcus Stoinis and KL Rahul made a 76-run partnership for the 4th wicket. Marcus Stoinis was the main contributor with 65 runs. In the very next over, KL Rahul was dismissed for 18 runs. After that, Nicholas Pooran took the game away from RCB and scored 62 runs in 19 balls with four fours and seven sixes. Ayush Badoni did well with 30 runs. Both Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran added 84 runs for the sixth wicket. However, after the dismissal of Nicholas Pooran, the Super Giants lost a few quick wickets, and eventually they managed to cross the line in the final ball of the match. Lucknow Super Giants scored 213 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
