MS Dhoni has stepped down from the CSK captaincy
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings announced that MS Dhoni has stepped down from the captaincy ahead of the opening match between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Accordingly, CSK named opener Ruturaj Gaikwad as their new captain for the Indian Premier League 2024.
MS Dhoni captained the Chennai Super Kings in 14 seasons and led the team to victory five times.
