Mathews, Kusal Perera and DDS return to the Sri Lanka squad
The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe, which will get underway on January 14 at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
Wanindu Hasaranga has been named as the captain of the side, and he will lead the national side for the first time in T20I matches. Angelo Mathews and Kusal Perera were brought back into the T20I side along with Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis. Nuwan Thushara and Matheesha Pathirana were included in the squad to strengthen the pace attack.

Wanindu Hasaranga (C), Charith Asalanka (VC), Kusal Mendis, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kusal Perera, Angelo Mathews, Dasun Shanaka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Kamindu Mendis, Pathum Nissanka (subject to fitness), Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Dilshan Madushanka, Matheesha Pathirana, Nuwan Thushara, and Akila Dananjaya
Chamika Karunaratne, Bhanuka Rajapaksha , Dunith Wellalage,Binura Fernando,Pramod Madushan, and Jeffery Vandersay were not included in the main squad who were named in the preliminary T20I squad.
