Matheesha Pathirana stars with the ball against MI

Chennai Super Kings registered a six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday at Chennai. Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Mumbai Indians scored 139 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. Nehal Wadhera was the top scorer with 64 runs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 26, and Tristan Stubbs contributed with 20 runs. Other than that, no one was able to score in double figures. For Chennai Super Kings, Matheesha Pathirana claimed three wickets for 15 runs.

In reply, Chennai Super Kings chased down the target successfully and scored 140 runs for the loss of four wickets in 17.4 overs. Devon Conway scored 44 runs, while Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 30 runs. Shivam Dube contributed 26 runs.
