KKR beats Punjab
Kolkata Knight Riders registered a 5-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the 53rd match of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Monday at Kolkata. Punjab Kings captain Shikhar Dhawan won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After losing the toss, the Punjab Kings scored 179 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer with 57 runs, while Shahrukh Khan and Jitesh Sharma contributed 21 runs each. For KKR, Varun Chakaravarthy claimed three wickets.
In reply, the Kolkata Knight Riders chased down the target successfully and scored 182 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Nitish Rana scored 51 runs, and Jason Roy scored 38 runs. At the end of the inning, Andre Russell scored a valuable 42 runs.
