India won the last-over thriller
India registered a two-wicket win over Australia in the first T20I of the series on Thursday at Visakhapatnam. India’s new T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Australia made a huge total on the board and scored 208 runs for a loss of 3 wickets in their 20 overs. After the dismissal of Matthew Short for 13 runs when the score was 31, Steven Smith and Josh Inglis made a 130-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Steven Smith scored 52 runs, and Josh Inglis was the top scorer with 110 runs.
In reply to that, India chased down the target successfully and scored 209 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 19.5 overs. India lost early wickets, but Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav made an 112-run partnership for the 3 wickets. Ishan Kishan scored 58 runs, and Suryakumar Yadav scored 80 runs in 42 balls. At the end of the inning, Rinku Singh scored an unbeaten 22 runs and guided the team to victory.
