I want to keep doing my best for my country – Chamari Athapaththu

The International Cricket Council announced Sri Lankan women’s team captain Chamari Athapaththu as the ICC Women’s ODI Player of the Year for her outstanding performance in 2023. This is the first time that a Sri Lankan women’s team player has been named the Women’s ODI Player of the Year in the ICC Award ceremony.

After winning the award, Chamari Athapaththu said that she was feeling so happy and proud. “I have a big dream; I achieved that dream finally.” Chamari Athapaththu said. “I want to keep doing my best for my country all the time,” she added.

“I have good achievements. But this one is really important for my life and my career,” Chamari Athapaththu said. “I dreamed a lot; I sacrificed a lot of things for achieving this award. So finally, I grab the award.” She extends her happiness.
