Even though we took five wickets, I think we didn’t bowl well – Dhananjaya de Silva
At the End of day two of the 1st Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Pakistan trailed by 91 runs on Monday at Galle. Sri Lanka bolwed out for 312 runs just before the lunch break. After the lunch break, the Pakistan team came out to bat, and they lost five wickets for 101 runs. After that, Saud Shakeel and Agha Salman made an unbeaten 120-run partnership in 148 balls until the close of the day’s play.
After the second day of the Test match, Dhananjaya de Silva joined the press conference and expressed his thoughts on today’s play.
“After winning the toss, we have to score at least 400 runs in the first inning.” We all know that Galle’s pitch will get tough in the back end of the match.” Dhananjaya de Silva said, “I think that we are 100 runs short of what we scored in the first inning.” Even though we took five wickets, I think we didn’t bowl well.” He added.
However, Dhananjaya de Silva played a crucial role and scored his 10th century in Test matches. It helped Sri Lanka post a decent score on the board. “Happy to score a hundred at a much-needed time for the team.” I have a responsibility to carry the innings, and I think that I have done it.” Dhananjaya de Silva talked about his valuable knock. “I have played 50 Test matches so far, and with that experience, after a collapse, I have the ability to control the game. That’s why the captain and management put me in the number 06 position.” Dhananjaya de Silva extended his thoughts about his role in the Team.
