CWC2023 Qualifiers: SLvsOMAN: Four Sri Lankans in Front of a Milestone

Sri Lanka Vice captain and wicketkeeper batman Kusal Mendis will play his 100th match on Friday against Oman. He will become the 28th player to play 100 ODI matches for Sri Lanka. Kusal Mendis made his ODI debut in 2016, and he has scored 2832 runs in 99 matches.

Sri Lankan middle-order batsman Charith Asalanka has scored 954 runs and needs another 46 more runs to reach the 1,000-run milestone. If he manages to reach that milestone in his next inning, he will equal the record of Roy Dias’s Fastest to 1000 runs in ODI cricket by a Sri Lankan.

Sri Lankan opening batsman Dimuth Karunarathne has scored 931 runs, and he needs another 69 runs to pass the 1000-run milestone.
