August 09: Sanath Jayasuriya became the first Sri Lankan

On This Day in 2005, Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya became the fourth batsman to pass 10,000 runs in one-day cricket and the first Sri Lankan to achieve that feat. He achieved that milestone in his 328th inning. With that, Sanath Jayasuriya became the first player to score 10,000 runs and take 250 wickets in One International match.
