Asalanka, Pathirana Set for Recall as Sri Lanka Prepare for Pakistan T20Is

According to a report by Sri Lankan newspaper Sunday Times, Charith Asalanka, Matheesha Pathirana, Dunith Wellalage and Dhananjaya de Silva are set to be recalled to the national squad for the upcoming three-match home T20 International series against Pakistan next month.

The report also states that young off-spinner Traveen Mathews is likely to earn a place in the squad, continuing Sri Lanka’s focus on youth ahead of the series.

Meanwhile, leg-spinner Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, along with batters Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Pavan Rathnayake, are expected to miss out on selection.

The three-match T20I series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is scheduled to get underway on January 7.
