Windies registered their first win in super six stage
West Indies registered a 7-wicket win over Oman in the 7th match of the super six stage in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Wednesday at Harare. West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, Oman scored 221 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. Suraj Kumar was the top scorer with an unbeaten 53 runs, and Shoaib Khan scored 50 runs. Kashyap Prajapati scored 31 runs, while Ayaan Khan contributed 30 runs. For the West Indies, Romario Shepherd claimed three wickets.
In reply, the West Indies chased down the target successfully and scored 222 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 39.4 overs. Brandon King was the star with a bat and scored 100 runs, and skipper Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 63 runs.
With That win, two-time world Cup Champions West Indies registered 5th place in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers, while Oman registered 6th place.
