West Indies Clinch Series with Commanding 62-Run Victory Over Ireland

West Indies registered a comprehensive 62-run win over Ireland in the third and final T20I of the series.

After Ireland captain Paul Stirling won the toss and opted to bowl first, the West Indies batting lineup came out blazing. Openers Evin Lewis and Shai Hope laid a solid foundation with a scintillating 122-run partnership for the first wicket. Lewis was in destructive form, smashing 91 runs, while Hope supported well with a quick-fire 51. The fireworks didn’t stop there. In the closing stages of the innings, Keacy Carty remained unbeaten on 49, showcasing excellent shot selection and timing. Romario Shepherd added the final flourish with a brutal 19 not out off just 6 balls, including 3 towering sixes. West Indies posted a mammoth total of 256/5 in their allotted 20 overs — one of their highest T20I totals.

For Ireland, Matthew Humphreys stood out with the ball, picking up 2 wickets for just 16 runs in his spell, providing a rare bright spot in an otherwise tough outing.

Chasing a daunting target of 257, Ireland struggled to keep up with the required run rate despite a few solid individual performances. Ross Adair top-scored with 48 runs, followed by Harry Tector’s 38, and an unbeaten 31 from Mark Adair. However, the West Indies bowling attack kept things tight and chipped in with regular breakthroughs.

Spinner Akeal Hosein was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, claiming 3 wickets and stalling Ireland’s momentum at crucial stages. Ireland eventually finished their innings at 194/7, falling 62 runs short of the target.

With this win, West Indies wrapped up the T20I series in style, demonstrating their batting firepower and bowling depth. The team will take plenty of confidence as they look ahead to upcoming international fixtures.
