Theekshana and Nissanka moved up the rankings
At the end of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023, Sri Lankan players moved up the latest ODI batting and bowling rankings. Sri Lankan players dominated throughout the tournament, which helped Sri Lanka qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which will be played in India later this year.
Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka scored 417 runs in eight matches and became the second-highest run-scorer in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier. With that performance, Nissanka has moved up nine places to equal 29th on the latest ICC ODI Batting rankings.
Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana has progressed 13 places to 19th in the ICC ODI Bowling rankings. Maheesh Theekshana was the second-highest wicket taker in the Cricket World Cup Qualifier and claimed 21 wickets.
