Sri Lanka registered historical win

Sri Lanka won by 1 wicket over South Africa , in 1st Test of the series, at the Durban on Saturday.  Sri Lankan new Captain Dimuth Karunarathne won the coin toss, and elected to field first.

After winning the toss Sri Lankan bowler kept things tight and they took 3 early wickets. However South African captain Faf du Plessis and Temba Bavuma rebuilt the inning and add 72 runs for the 4th wicket. Quinton de Kock was the top scorer with 80 runs and it helped South Africa to pose 235 runs on the board.

In reply that Sri lanka bowled out for 191 runs. No one able to build a partnership at the middle. Kusal Perera was the top scorer with 51 runs.While in the bowling department Dale Steyn claimed four – wickets for 48 runs.

South Africa started their second innings with the 44 runs lead and they scored 259 runs for their second innings. South African captain Faf du Plessis made 90 runs and Quinton de Kock scored 55 runs. While in the bowling department Lasith Embuldeniya claimed five – wickets and became the fourth Sri Lankan to take five wickets in Test debut. However South Afircan set a target of 304 runs in front of Sri Lanka to win.

Sri Lankan openers get a solid start and they add 42 runs for the first wicket. Unfortunately Sri Lankan middle order collapsed once again. They lost wickets regular intervals. But Kusal Perera fight till the end and he batted throughout the inning with the low order batsman. Finally He manage to guide Sri Lanka to a historical 1 wicket victory. Kusal Perera scored an unbeaten 153 runs.
