With this result, the home side secured a 2-1 series win, delivering a strong all-round performance in the series decider.
Sri Lanka’s captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and elected to bat first under favourable conditions. The hosts capitalized on the opportunity, posting a competitive total of 287 for 7 wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
The foundation of Sri Lanka’s innings was laid by Kusal Mendis, who produced an outstanding knock of 124 runs off 114 deliveries, including a blend of timing, placement, and controlled aggression. He was well-supported by skipper Asalanka, who contributed a composed 58 runs, as the pair shared a pivotal 124-run partnership for the fourth wicket. In response, Bangladesh struggled to gain momentum and were dismissed for 186 runs in 39.4 overs. Towhid Hridoy was the top scorer for the visitors with a fighting 51, while Parvez Hossain Emon and Mehidy Hasan Miraz each chipped in with 28 runs. Jaker Ali contributed 27.
Sri Lanka’s bowling unit delivered a clinical performance, with Dushmantha Chameera and Asitha Fernando claiming three wickets apiece, effectively dismantling Bangladesh’s batting line-up and ensuring a convincing finish for the hosts.
