Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in the Asia Cup and World Cup
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced that 36-year-old superstar all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been named the new ODI captain for Bangladesh. He will lead the Bangladesh Team in the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. He led Bangladesh in the 2011 World Cup, which was held in Sri Lanka, India, and Bangladesh. After Bangladesh’s opening batter Tamim Iqbal decided to step down from the captaincy, BCB appointed Shakib Al Hasan as a replacement for the former captain.
