September 29: Dinesh Chandimal first hundred as captain

On this day in 2017, Sri Lankan batter Dinesh Chandimal scored his first hundred as Test captain. He scored an unbeaten 155 runs against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. Dinesh Chandimal was appointed as the captain of the Test in July 2017 in the Test series against Zimbabwe.

On this day in 2019, Sri Lankan captain Chamari Atapattu became the first Sri Lankan women cricketer to score a T20I century. She scored 113 runs against the Australian women’s team.
