Scotland registered their first win against West Indies

Scotland registered seven wickets over the West Indies in the third match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Saturday at Harare. Scotland captain Richie Berrington won the coin toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the West Indies were bowled out for 181 runs in 43.5 overs. The West Indies got off to a sheaky start, and they lost their top order cheaply. At one stage, the West Indies were at 81 runs for six wickets. After that, Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder made a 77-run partnership for the 7th wicket. Romario Shepherd scored 36 runs. Jason Holder was the top scorer with 45 runs. For Scotland, Brandon McMullen claimed three wickets.

In reply, Scotland chased down the target successfully and scored 185 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 43.3 overs. Scotland lost their first wicket in the very first ball. After that, Matthew Cross and Brandon McMullen made a 125-run partnership for the second wicket and took the game away from the Windies. Brandon McMullen scored 69 runs, and Matthew Cross was the top scorer with an unbeaten 74 runs.

With that, the two-time champion West Indies knocked out the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023, and they want to be featured in the up-coming ICC Cricket World Cup in India.
