Rovman Powell leading the team to a victory

West Indies registered a 3-wicket win over South Africa in the 1st T20I of the series at Centurion. Due to rain, the match was reduced to 11 overs per side. West Indies captain Rovman Powell won the coin toss and elected to bowl first.

After losing the toss, South Africa scored 131 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 11 overs. David Miller was the top scorer with 48 runs in 22 balls with four fours and three sixes. Reeza Hendricks scored 21 runs, and Sisanda Magala contributed with an unbeaten 18 runs. For the West Indies, Odean Smith and Sheldon Cottrell claimed two wickets each.

In reply, West Indies scored 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 10.3 overs and reached the target successfully. Johnson Charles scored 28 runs, and Brandon King scored 23 runs. Skipper Rovman Powell was the leading runscorer for the Windies and scored an unbeaten 43 runs in 18 balls, leading the team to a victory. For South Africa, Sisanda Magala claimed three wickets.
