Sri Lanka registered an 8-wicket win over the West Indies in the 9th match of the Super Six stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers 2023 on Friday at Harare. The West Indies batted first and were bowled out for 243 runs in 48.1 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target Successfully and scored 244 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 44.2 overs.
Pathum Nissanka made his second consecutive hundred in ODI matches and scored 104 runs against the West Indies. In his last innings against Zimbabwe, he scored an unbeaten 101 runs. With those two back-to-back tons, Pathum Nissanka became the first Sri Lankan to score two ODI hundreds in consecutive innings after Niroshan Dickwella in six years. Previously, seven Sri Lankans had achieved that milestone and Roshan Mahanama was the first Sri Lankan to do so.
