New record from Pathum Nissanka

Sri Lankan opening batsman scored a brilliant fifty against England in their last match in T20 World Cup 2022. He made 67 runs in 45 balls with 2 fours and 5 sixes. With that fifty, Pathum Nissanka scored the most T20I 50s in the calendar year for Sri Lanka. He has scored 6 half centuries so far in 2022. Also, he became the 10th Sri Lankan to pass 1000 runs in T20I matches.

Previously, Kusal Mendis, TM Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara were at the top with 5 half centuries.

Pathum Nissanka has scored 713 runs in 24 matches this year and holds the record for most T20I runs for Sri Lanka in 2022.
