Mumbai Indians won the close game

Mumbai Indians registered a 9-run win over Punjab Kings in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh on Thursday. Punjab Kings captain Sam Curran won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Mumbai Indians scored 192 runs for a loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav was the star with the bat and scored 78 runs, and Rohit Sharma scored 36 runs. Tilak Varma scored an unbeaten 34 runs. For the Punjab Kings, Harshal Patel claimed three wickets.

In reply to that, the Punjab Kings bowled out 183 runs in 19.1 overs. The Punjab Kings were off to a sheaky start, and they lost four wickets for 14 runs. However, Shashank Singh’s 41 and Ashutosh Sharma’s 61 runs kept hope alive for the Punjab Kings. Harpreet Brar scored 21 runs. For the Mumbai Indians, Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets each.
