Mahela Jayawardene has stepped down as consultant coach
SLC confirmed on June 26 that Sri Lankan former captain and Batting legend Mahela Jayawardene has stepped down as Sri Lanka’s consultant coach. Mahela Jayawardene has taken that decision after the early exit of Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup 2024. Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the Super 8s, and they managed to register just one win in the ongoing T20 World Cup. However, SLC did not reveal the reason behind Jayawardene’s resignation.
