Kusal Perera back in side
The Sri Lanka Cricket Board announced the Sri Lanka “A” squad to play the 02 four-day games and the 03 one-day limited-over games against the England Lions Team. Nipun Dhananjaya was named captain of the four-day games, while Kamidu Mendis captained the one-day limited overs team.
According to the announcement, Sri Lankan opening batsman Kusal Janith Perera was brought in to the side as preparation for the Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand. Kusal, who suffered a shoulder injury after the 2021 Sri Lanka team’s T20 match against the West Indies team, has not participated in any active matches in the past few months. However, the selection committee has decided to give him a chance to make the national team.
