Kohli’s fifty helped Bengaluru to chased down the target

Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered a four-wicket win over Punjab Kings in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday. Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, the Punjab Kings made 176 runs for a loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan was the top scorer with 45 runs, and Jitesh Sharma scored 27 runs. Prabhsimran Singh contributed with 25 runs. At the back end of the inning, Shashank Singh smashed an unbeaten 21 runs in eight balls. Royal Challengers Bengaluru Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell claimed 2 wickets each.

In reply to that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased down the target successfully and scored 178 runs for a loss of six wickets in 19.2 overs. Virat Kohli was the star with the bat and scored 77 runs, and Rajat Patidar scored 18 runs. At the back end of the inning, Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror made a match-winning unbroken 48-run partnership in 18 balls. Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 28 runs in 10 balls, and Mahipal Lomror contributed with an unbeaten 17 runs in 8 balls.
