ICC lift the Sri Lanka Cricket’s ban with immediate effect
The International Cricket Council announced that they have decided to lift Sri Lanka Cricket’s ban with immediate effect. On November 10, 2023, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was suspended for violation of responsibilities as an ICC Member, in particular “the requirement to manage its affairs autonomously and ensure that there is no government interference in the governance, regulation, and/or administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.”
However, Sri Lanka missed the opportunity to host the ongoing U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
