Dimuth Karunarathne announced his retirement
36-year-old Sri Lankan former captain and opening batsman Dimuth Karunarathne announced his retirement from international cricket. According to that, he will retire after playing his 100th Test match against Australia in Galle.
Daily FT reports that Dimuth Karunarathne said that he plans to retire from all levels of cricket and migrate to Australia with his family next month.
Dimuth Karunarathne made his Test debut in 2012, and since then he has played 99 Test matches and scored 7172 runs. Also, he captained the Sri Lanka Test and ODI teams. Dimuth led the team in 30 Test matches and registered 12 wins as a captain.
