David Warner is set to retire from Test cricket next year
Australian former captain and opening batsman David Warner announced that he will retire from Test cricket at the end of the Test match against Pakistan in January 2024 at the SCG. Ahead of the World Test Championship final against India, David Warner spoke to the reporters and said, “I’ve always said the 2024 World Cup would probably be my final game; I probably owe it to myself and my family if I can score runs here and continue to play back in Australia. If I can get through this and make the Pakistan series, I will definitely finish up then.
David Warner made his Test debut in 2011 against New Zealand. Since then, he has played 103 Test matches and scored 8158 runs, including 25 Test hundreds.
