Sri Lanka completed a clean sweep over Zimbabwe

Sri Lanka completed a commanding 5-wicket victory over Zimbabwe in the second ODI at Harare Sports Club, clinching the two-match series 2-0.

Sri Lankan skipper Charith Asalanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. Zimbabwe made a strong start, building back-to-back fifty-plus partnerships at the top of the order. Ben Curran anchored the innings with a fluent 79, while Clive Madande (36) and Sikandar Raza (59* off 55) added 76 runs for the sixth wicket to lift the hosts to a competitive 277/7 in 50 overs. For Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera impressed with the ball, finishing with three wickets.

In reply, Sri Lanka’s chase was built around the brilliance of Pathum Nissanka, who once again stood tall with a superb 122 runs, steering the innings with authority. Despite early setbacks—Nuwanidu Fernando (14) and Kusal Mendis (5) falling cheaply—Sri Lanka rebuilt through a 78-run stand between Sadeera Samarawickrama (31) and Nissanka.
Captain Asalanka then joined Nissanka in a match-defining 90-run partnership for the fourth wicket, contributing a quickfire 71 off 61 balls, effectively taking the game away from Zimbabwe. Sri Lanka eventually reached the target in 49.3 overs, finishing at 278/5.

With this victory, Sri Lanka completed a clean sweep over Zimbabwe on their home soil, showcasing both bowling discipline and batting dominance.
