Silva brothers are back in the same franchise team

Five teams selected the players for the fourth season of the Lanka Premier League following the conclusion of the first-ever Lanka Premier League auction.

Sri Lankan Super Star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva and his elder brother Chathuranga de Silva have the opportunity to represent the same franchise team once again in the upcoming Lanka Premier League. Both Wanindu Hasaranga and Chathuranga de Silva were picked by B Love Kandy.

Both brothers featured for the Jaffna Stallions in the inaugural season of the Lanka Premier League in 2020. During the 2nd edition of the LPL, Chathuranga de Silva and Wanindu Hasaranga represented the Jaffna Kings.

However, in the last edition of the Lanka Premier League, the Silva brothers played for two different teams. Wanindu Hasaranga represents the Kandy Falcons, and he is named captain of the team. His brother, Chathuraga de Silva, played for Dambulla Aura.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Chaturanga De Silva both represent the Sri Lanka National Team. Chathuranga de Silva and Wanindu Hasaranga are the only Sri Lankan brothers to play in the Aisa Cup finals. Chathuranga de Silva was a member of Sri Lanka’s 2014 Asia Cup winning team, and Wanindu Hasaranga played in the 2022 Asia Cup, in which Sri Lanka became the champions.
