On this day in 2005, Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan passed 1000 runs in Test matches. He is the only player to have 800 wickets and 1000 runs in Test matches.

On this day in 2011, Sri Lankan spinning wizard Rangana Herath reached 100 wickets in Test matches.
