Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul guided LSG to a comfortable victory
Lucknow Super Giants registered an 8-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the 34th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday. Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, the Chennai Super Kings scored 176 runs for a loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer with an unbeaten 57 runs, and Ajinkya Rahane scored 36 runs. Moeen Ali made 30 runs. At the back end of the inning, MS Dhoni smashed an unbeaten 28 runs in nine balls. For the Lucknow Super Giants, Krunal Pandya claimed 2 wickets for 16 runs.
In reply to that, the Lucknow Super Giants chased down the target successfully and scored 180 runs for a loss of 2 wickets in 19 overs. Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul made a 134-run partnership for the first wicket and took the game away from Chennai. Quinton de Kock scored 54 runs, and KL Rahul’s captain’s knock scored 82 runs. Nicholas Pooran made an unbeaten 23 runs.
