Pakistan still in the hunt
Pakistan registered a 21-run win according to the DLS method over New Zealand in the 35th match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on Saturday at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, New Zealand scored 401 runs for a loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. Rachin Ravindra was the top scorer with 108 runs, and Kane Williamson scored 95 runs. Both Williamson and Ravindra made a 180-run partnership for the second wicket. At the back end of the inning, Glenn Phillips scored 41 runs on 25 balls. For Pakistan, Mohammad Wasim Jr. claimed three wickets.
In reply to that, Pakistan scored 200 runs for a loss of 1 wicket in 25.3 overs until the match was called off due to the rain. After the dismissal of Abdullah Shafique, Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam made an unbroken 194-run partnership for the second wicket. Fakhar Zaman was the star with the bat and scored an unbeaten 126 runs, and Babar Azam scored an unbeaten 66 runs.
