Pakistan equaled Sri Lanka with the most T20 World Cup final match defeats

With that victory, England tied the West Indies for the most T20 World Cup trophies. West Indies previously held the record for most T20 World Cup titles with two. They have won in 2012 and 2016, respectively.

In 2007 and 2022, they lost the final and ended up as the runners-up. Previously, Sri Lanka was the only team to lose the T20 World Cup final twice. They have played three T20 World Cup finals and became champions in 2014. In 2009 and 2012, they also ended up as runners-up.
