Pakistan Defeat UAE by 41 Runs to Seal Super Four Spot

Pakistan booked their place in the next round of the Asia Cup 2025 after clinching a commanding 41-run victory over the United Arab Emirates in the 10th match of the tournament at Dubai on Wednesday.

UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem won the toss and opted to bowl first. The start of the match was delayed as Pakistan arrived late at the ground, but once play got underway, they found themselves under early pressure, losing both openers cheaply. Fakhar Zaman and Salman Agha then steadied the innings with a 61-run stand for the third wicket. Agha made 20, while Zaman top-scored with a well-compiled 50. In the closing overs, Shaheen Afridi added vital runs with an unbeaten 29, as Pakistan posted 146/9 in their 20 overs. Junaid Siddique was the pick of the UAE bowlers with 4 wickets, while Simranjeet Singh claimed 3.

Chasing 147, UAE struggled to keep pace with the required rate and were bowled out for 105 in 17.4 overs. Rahul Chopra top-scored with 35, while Dhruv Parashar contributed 20. Skipper Waseem managed just 14. For Pakistan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi picked up two wickets each to seal a comfortable win.

With this result, Pakistan joined India in qualifying from Group A to the Super Four stage, while UAE bowed out of the competition.
