No Handshakes as India Outclass Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025
India registered a commanding 7-wicket victory over Pakistan in the 6th match of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Pakistan skipper Salman Agha won the toss and opted to bat first, but his side got off to a shaky start, losing two early wickets. Despite a brief rebuilding effort from Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman, Indian bowlers maintained control throughout the innings. Fakhar managed just 17 runs, while Farhan top-scored with 40. In the later stages, Shaheen Afridi provided some late fireworks with an unbeaten 33 off 16 deliveries, helping Pakistan post 127/9 in their 20 overs. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball for India, claiming 3 wickets, while Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah picked up 2 apiece.
In response, India made light work of the modest target, reaching 131/3 in just 15.5 overs. Captain Suryakumar Yadav led from the front with a fluent unbeaten 47, while Tilak Varma and Abhishek Sharma chipped in with 31 runs each. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub was the lone bright spot with the ball, taking all three Indian wickets.
A notable moment after the match was the absence of handshakes between the two teams, which drew attention from fans and observers.
