Marcus Stoinis guide the team to victory
Lucknow Super Giants registered a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, the Chennai Super Kings made 210 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was the top scorer for Chennai and scored an unbeaten 108 runs in 60 balls. Shivam Dube smashed 66 runs in 27 balls. Both Gaikwad and Dube made a 104-run partnership for the 4th wicket.
In reply to that, Lucknow Super Giants chase down the target successfully and scored 213 runs for lost of 4 wickets in 19.3 overs. Nicholas Pooran scored 34 runs and Deepak Hooda scored an unbeaten 17 runs. Marcus Stoinis was the star with the bat and scored an unbeaten 124 in 63 balls. For Chennai Super Kings Matheesha Pathirana claimed 2 wickets.
