March 26: Dilshan and Tharanga’s double hundred partnership in WC

On this day in 2011, Sri Lanka registered a 10-wicket win over England in  the quarterfinals of the ICC Cricket World Cup in Colombo and qualified for the semi-finals. England batted first and scored 229 runs for a loss of six wickets in their 50 overs. In reply to that, Sri Lanka chased down the target and scored 231 runs without losing a wicket in 39.3 overs. Upul Tharanga scored an unbeaten 102 runs, while Thilakarathne Dilshan scored an unbeaten 108 runs.
