March 24: Pathum Nissanka scored his maiden Test hundred
On this day in 2021, Sri Lankan top-order batter Pathum Nissanka made his maiden Test hundred on his debut. Nissanka scored 103 runs in the second inning of the Sri Lankan game against the West Indies at North Sound. He was the fourth Sri Lankan to score a century on a Test debut for Sri Lanka after Brendon Kuruppu, Romesh Kaluwitharana, and Thilan Samaraweera.
