March 23: Australia won the World Cup for second consecutive time

On this day in 2003, Australia registered a 125-run win over India in the World Cup final at Johannesburg and clinched the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for the second consecutive time. Australia batted first and scored 359 runs for a loss of 2 wickets in their 50 overs. In reply to that, India bowled out 234 runs in 39.2 overs.
