Man of the Series in T20 World Cup

Eighth edition of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup scheduled to be played in Australia from 16th October to 13th November. During last few editions some players were highlighted and they named as the player of the series.

Shahid Afridi (2007)
Pakistan all rounder Shahid Afridi named as the Man of the series in ICC World Cup 2007 for his all round performance. He was the highest wicket taker in the tournament with 12 wickets. Also Afridi scored 91 runs with the bat.

Tillakaratne Dilshan (2009)
Sri Lankan opener and All rounder Thilakarathne Dilshan won the Man of the series award in ICC World Cup 2009. He scored 317 runs with 3 half centuries in 7 matches. He always set the platform for the Sri Lanka with quick start.

Kevin Pieterson (2010)
English cricketer Kevin Pieterson was the first player to win Player of the series from World Cup winning Team. He played a crucial role for England and scored 248 runs and became the 2nd highest run-scorer in the tournament.

Shane Watson (2012)
Although Australia Team unable to qualified for the T20 World Cup final Australia All rounder Shane Watson named as the Man of the Series of the tournament. He made 249 runs and took 11 wickets in 6 matches he played.

Virat Kohli (2014)
Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli awarded as the Player of the Series in ICC T20 World Cup 2014. He scored 242 runs in the tournament. Sri Lanka and India played the final and Sri Lanka won the Trophy. Virat Kohli scored 77 runs in the final.

Virat Kohli (2016)
Indian star batsman Virat Kohli was the first and only player to won the Man of the series award twice. He scored 273 runs with 3 half centuries in the tournament.

David Warner (2021)
Australian opener David Warner named as the Man of the series in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. He scored 289 runs in 7 innings in the tournament and played a crucial role to win their first ever ICC T20 World Cup Trophy.
