Lahore Qalandars defend their PSL title

Lahore Qalandars defeated Multan Sultans by one run in the Pakistan Super League final on Saturday in Lahore. Shaheen Afridi, captain of the Lahore Qalandars, won the coin toss and chose to bat first.

After winning the toss, Qalandars scored 200 runs in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Abdullah Shafique scored 65 runs in 40 balls, while Fakhar Zaman scored 39 runs. Skipper Shaheen Afridi batted brilliantly, scoring 44 runs in 15 balls with five sixes and two fours. Usama Mir took three wickets for the Multan Sultans.

Multan Sultans respond with 199 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw scored 52 runs, and Mohammad Rizwan added 34. Rizwan and Rossouw both put in 64-run partnerships for the second wicket. Khushdil Shah hit 25 runs off 12 balls. However, the Multan Sultans were unable to cross the finish line, leaving them two runs short of victory. Shaheen Afridi took four wickets for the Lahore Qalandars.
