India lead the series

India registered a 44-run win over Australia in the 2nd T20I of the series on Sunday at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Australia captain Matthew Wade won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, India made 235 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in their 20 overs. India were off to a solid start and made 77 runs for the first wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 53 runs in 25 balls, and Ishan Kishan scored 52 runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the top scorer with 58 runs. At the back end of the inning, Rinku Singh smashed an unbeaten 31 runs in nine balls. For Australia, Nathan Ellis claimed three wickets.

In reply to that, Australia managed to score 191 runs for a loss of nine wickets in their 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis was the top scorer with 45 runs, and Matthew Wade scored 42 runs. Tim David contributed with 37 runs, while Matthew Short and Steven Smith scored 19 runs each. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Prasidh Krishna claimed three wickets each.
