Defending Champions into the semi-finals
England registered a comfortable 10-wicket win over the United States in the 49th match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Sunday. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first.
After losing the toss, the United States bowled out 115 runs in 18.5 overs. Nitish Kumar was the top scorer with 30 runs, and Corey Anderson scored 29 runs. Harmeet Singh contributed with 21 runs. For England, Chris Jordan claimed four wickets, including a hat trick.
In reply to that, England chased down the target successfully and scored 117 runs without losing a wicket in 9.4 overs. Skipper Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten 83 runs in 38 balls. Philip Salt contributed with an unbeaten 25 runs.
With that win, the defending champion England team qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final.
