Back to back wins for Galle Titans
Galle Titans registered an 83-run win over B-Love Kandy in the 5th Match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 on Tuesday at R. Premadasa in Colombo. Galle Titans captain Dasun Shanaka won the coin toss and opted to bat first.
After winning the toss, the Galle Titans scored 180 runs for the loss of five wickets in their 20 overs. B-Love bowlers kept things tight and put pressure on the Galle Titans in the first 10 overs of the match. They picked up 3 wickets for 60 runs. However, after that, Tim Seifert and Shakib Al Hasan made 95 runs for the 4th wicket and took the game away from Kandy. Seifert was the star with the bat and scored 74 runs in 39 balls, and Shakib Al Hasan scored 30 runs.
In reply that B-Love Kandy bowled out for 97 in 17.1 overs. B-Love Kandy lost wickets at regular intervals. Ashen Bandara was the top scorer for Kandy with 27 runs, and Isuru Udana contributed 16 runs. Thanuka Dabare scored 12 runs. Other than that, no one was able to pass the double-figure mark.
