Back-to-back defeats for Australia

South Africa registered a 134-run win over Australia in the 10th Match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on Thursday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first.

After losing the toss, South Africa scored 311 runs for a loss of 7 wickets in their 50 overs. Quinton de Kock was the top scorer with 109 runs. Both Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma made 108 runs for the first wicket. Aiden Markram scored 56 runs, while Bavuma contributed 35 runs.

In reply to that, Australia bowled out 177 runs in 40.5 overs. Australia lost half of their side for 65 runs. Marnus Labuschagne was the only successful batter with 46 runs. Mitchell Starc scored 27 runs, while Pat Cummins contributed 22 runs. For South Africa, Kagiso Rabada claimed three wickets.
