Australia clinched the series with one match to spare
On Saturday, Australia defeated England by 72 runs in the second One-Day International (ODI) in Sydney. Australia captain Josh Hazlewood won the coin toss and elected to bat first.
After winning the toss, Australia posted 280 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs. Steven Smith was the top scorer with 94 runs. Marnus Labuschagne scored 58 runs. Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith combined for 101 runs for the third wicket. Mitchell Marsh contributed 50 runs. For England, Adil Rashid claimed three wickets.
England bowled them out for 208 runs in 38.5 overs in response.Sam Billings was the top scorer with 71 runs. James Vince scored 60 runs. Sam Billings and James Vince added 122 runs to their fourth-wicket partnership.However, Australian bowlers kept things tight and took wickets at regular intervals. Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc claimed four wickets each.
